Trade ideas for hot stocks and other products

This platform feature is essentially a built-in automated watchlist that tracks and displays all products that have seen their trade volume rise significantly in comparison to the overall monthly trade volume average. The feature updates on an hourly basis – so traders should keep their eye on it closely.

The Hot Products tool helps traders to save time without having to conduct their own in-depth research to learn which products are currently seeing a significant rise in trade volume. It can be found on our web-based trading platform, Next Generation.

How to view the 'hottest' products

After registering for an account, in the selection of the uppermost tabs on the platform, click on ‘Products’. Then select ‘Library’ in the dropdown menu. You will then see a range of options; scroll down and select ‘Hot Products’.

Hot Products – features and filters

The Hot Products watchlist consists of a range of filters that enables traders to get a closer look at the range of financial instruments that are in the list. These detailed filters provide extra insight and information to support traders in the decision-making process. The categories of filters include Type, Sub-type, Region and Country.

Types and sub-types of products

One of the filtering options is to focus on specific types of trading products. Traders are able to view a range of specific product types, such as commodities, currencies, ETFs, indices and shares. The image below is an example list of Hot Products that are categorised as commodities.

Additionally, traders have the option to concentrate the list to specific product sub-types. These include options like Agriculture, Automobile, Developed Markets, Emerging Markets, Information Technology and Precious Metals. This example shows a list of Hot Products using the sub-type of Agriculture.

In order to view the instruments' actual price as well as the percentage change, you may need to activate your market data subscription. Please note that market data is only available to view with a live account, which includes a small fee. Read more about market data fees for more information.

Products by region and country

infinitetradingpocket traders can also filter Hot Products by which region they are listed. The filters can also be used to view the products by country. The below image exhibits a user focusing on hot products within the United States. They are arranged by a significant or sudden change price action, which makes these products ‘hot’ to trade.

Combining filters

Dependant on the trader’s preferences, the Hot Products list can be focused even further by combining filters. The image below is an example of a list of hot products that are specifically ETFs within the United States. This is especially useful for users who prefer to trade a specific asset class within a certain region, depending on their portfolio.

Another feature of the Hot Products tool is the ability to save it as a permanent watchlist. Users can avoid re-setting the filters by simply selecting the ‘Save as Watchlist’ icon. Therefore, the list can be saved and users can view the updated list as per their filtering, at any time. With this feature, traders can save time and get faster real-time access to the desired product. Learn more about creating your own watchlist.

Summary

Start using our Hot Products tool to get the most out of your daily trading opportunities. It is an exclusive tool that enables CMC traders to view a list of the ‘hottest’ products, updated on an hourly basis. The list consists of the products whose recent trade volume has increased significantly in comparison to the monthly average. Where there are fluctuating price movements, guaranteed stop-loss orders (GSLOs) are an effective way of safe-guarding your trades against volatility, so traders should learn more about execution and order types before placing a possibly risky trade. You can also take advantage of our other platform features, such as Popular Products, Price Movers, Biggest Risers and Biggest Fallers. In particular, swing traders can use the Price Movers feature as it focuses more on medium-term swings rather than quick price action, which is the focus of our Hot Products tool.
